Village Schools Project

Cultured Planet works with the Ju/’hoansi Development Fund (JDF) an organization that supports community-based schools in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy, working with Ju/’hoansi San communities to improve access to primary education in remote areas.

The initiative focuses on mother-tongue education, basic school infrastructure, nutrition, transport, and support for local teachers. Our aim is practical: to help children attend school regularly, learn effectively, and remain connected to their language, culture, and community.

We work in partnership with local leaders, teachers, and families, and rely on donations, fundraising events, and volunteer support to sustain and grow the schools.

How can I support the Village Schools project?

A group of smiling children and a few adults standing outside near a building with a large arched opening in a rural setting on a sunny day.
A young girl with braided hair, wearing a red shirt and a beaded necklace, smiling at the camera. She is seated at a desk with an open educational book in front of her in a classroom setting.
